I have been part of the Haus of Gaga for over 9 years,” says Sarah Tanno, makeup artist to stars such as Gigi HadidDakota Johnson, and Suki Waterhouse. “I've been her full-time makeup artist for more than 3 years now, doing everything from editorial, performances, red carpets, music videos, TV and now film.” That, and Halloween costumes, of course.

Tanno has been on the road with Gaga, or should we say Stefani Germanotta, for nearly 5 months now, save for a brief hiatus when Gaga stepped away from the tour due to health problems. Tanno created Gaga’s stage look specially for the Joanne World Tour featuring heavy, black-lined lids complete with a clear strip covered in diamontes— an accent that was designed and handmade by the artist herself. She completed the look using the new Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Liquid Lip Crayon, which is out today. "[It] stood the ultimate test of being able to last through a full show," she says. "And you witnessed that first hand at her stadium show in New York in the pouring rain."

The young artist was introduced to fashion aficionado Marc Jacobs and joined his beauty team as Global Artistry Ambassador earlier this year. “In a way I did get to meet Marc through Gaga. We first met at a Marc Jacobs Beauty launch event in NY for Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara,” Tanno recalls. “ I heard that Marc said he was a huge fan of the makeup I created for Gaga’s role as The Countess in American Horror Story: Hotel. He wanted to know who did the makeup and invited me to New York to attend the launch. Since that moment, I knew I wanted to be part of anything and everything the brand was doing.”

Tanno is one of three Global Ambassadors to the brand, alongside Hung Vanngoand Michael Ashton whose clientele range from Adele to Kaia Gerber and Selena Gomez.
